APK 40 Bar hydraulic conversion kit Volvo EC160E

This hydraulic conversion kit was designed and manufactured by Aksorn Prongakas, founder of APK RC Hydraulics Thailand.

The technology has been continuously developed and optimized. The hydraulic pump and control valves are a new development from 2022. With the exception of a few purchased parts, everything is manufactured and assembled in-house by APK. The control valves can be controlled extremely precisely. The control commands on the transmitter are implemented very precisely and precisely, even with slow movements.

The conversion kit is pre-assembled in assemblies as shown in the pictures. The assemblies are bolted to the superstructure with just a few screws.
The hydraulic cylinders are mounted on the original mounts of the electric cylinders using the adapter sockets supplied.

The original remote control can be used. However, it is recommended to use a transmitter with mixer functions. We offer pre-configured FrSky XE tray transmitters.

Modifications must be made to the rear of the boom and its bearings to allow for proper routing of the hydraulic hoses. We recommend installing the optional APK A-frame instead.

The "slewing ring upgrade" is strongly recommended to eliminate wobble in the superstructure. The backlash of the slewing ring can be minimized with the "tuning pinion gear."

The model can be operated with the original battery. Depending on the setting of the pump output, it can be used for up to 30 minutes. The power consumption is very low, since the hydraulics develop more power even at half speed than anything else that is currently available in the price range "under 2000 euros".
If you want to drive longer, you can charge up to two batteries with 10,500 mAh each.
